Our vision
Vishwalaya - Ram Ram's Paradise for Children - is an orphanage/ashram dedicated to educating and raising children using alternative methods of education. It became a Registered Trust in 2004. There are currently 30 children housed, fed, and educated in Vishwalaya, which was founded about thirty years ago with the following prayer:
To create a paradise for children: an unconditional space where everything they need for nourishment is available;
To be a family, a community, for those children who come from difficult backgrounds, with a dire need for love and trust;
To help these children come into contact with all kinds of people;
And the most basic need: that there always be plenty of tasty nutritious vegetarian food to fill their stomachs.
Our name, Vishwalaya, meaning "Shelter for the World" in Kannada, is very appropriate for this ashram which does not turn anyone away. To watch our video, click here.
